Scopes for a DW 44 magnum

I planning on mounting a scope for hunting on a DW 44 magnum, 8" inch barrel. I have both the factory-vented barrel and non-vented barrel (made circa 1981, when I bought the gun).

What I would prefer is an fixed-power optical scope, 1x or 2x, that will stand up to shooting lots and lots of full-power loads, but I am open to using electronic dot-type sights also.

I will probably use the vented barrel unless the vent pattern blows gas back onto the scope front lens.Could this become a problem? If it is, I will use the non-vented barrel.

Any suggestions as to useful scopes?

I have a Leupold 2x on a DW .357.  And am looking for a scope for a .44 mag Ruger.  After many discussions I am looking at the Burris or Leupold.
