Reloads dont fit Model 14?

Just got my first Model 14 357.M and the cylinder won't rotate with my reloaded .38 Spl.s the cylinder won,teven close on some rounds. 357M s' with new brass work fine.   Well used brass dimensions are all under maximum. Length, width, rim thickness all OK. Loads wont fit a Ruger SP101 also. No problem in a S&W M-10 or a M-19.      The DW-14 has racessed chambers as does the Smith M19. The S&W M-10 does not. I cant' think of  a reason for this offhand. Any body have a clue?

First thing i'd try is sizing the brass and chambering them unloaded . if it works ok then load some ,  try it if they will not work ,  pull the de-caping pin from your sizing die and run them through the die to re-size them after loading . it maybe that they are being belled at the mouth when you seat the bullet also try not expanding the case mouth so much when loading.

If the cly. wont rotate you might check to make sure your primers are seated enough. When I had my DW-14 this is one of the problems I ran into.

Just a thought, check your barrel/cylinder gap, if it is set too close it may be binding the cylinder.

Swelling the neck when loading the bullet in the case is a problem with the 454 Casull due to the tight chambers.

In your case, the advice above will tell you if that's the problem.

But what most people don't stop to think about is that the case neck needs room to expand and release the bullet, otherwise pressure can rise to unsafe levels.

To be safe, a loaded round should fall all the way into the chamber and then fall out of its own weight.
