It's time for the Iron Horse to go :>(

Well pards it had to happen.    Time has come to sell off my GoldWing.  Just too much bike (in weight) for me anymore.

We got it so the Mrs. could ride along but we haven't had it out for over a year (too hot, too cold, I'm tired, I don't feel like it right now, etc).

I did take it two work now and then but it's just not fun trying to be sure it stays vertical at the stoplights.  I can ride it fine it's the stopping that kills me, that and a twice-scoped left knee that the doc wants to replace.

Had it fall over on my foot in the fall (in my driveway, not moving, with me just checking the air shocks) and that was got us talking about selling it.

Found one of those Ebay trader assistants and drove it over yesterday.  Guess I'm glad I did cause she knows alot more about selling on Ebay than I ever will (buying on Ebay--just ask my wife).

Saw this morning that the reserve has been met so it's as good as gone.

Another page turned in the book of life (course I still have my Honda 1100 Shadow and she's not going anywhere without me on her back  )

Just noticed how the bike that I'm selling is an it and the one I'm keeping is a she.  Guess I am already starting to forgot about the GW.

Ç(who still rides to work each day)R      you do understand the difference between driving and riding?

Know where yer comin frum pard!  I had a Triumph fer many years, a Tiger that I had semi chopped, with a 750 upper end, Heads ported and releaved with over size intake & exhaust, stretched and raked 6" over forks, shorty ape hangers, and TT pipes, with a nice King/queen seat. Midnight blue & white! 8)  I rode that bike up the AlCan back in 76. Made innumerable road trips, to all three coasts, and can't begin to recall how many rides I made b'tween Iowa and St Louis or Shakey Town.

....finished college, got married, had kids, and suddenly I realized that the guilt trip from a days riding wasn't overcoming the fun. I'd come home and there sat the wife & the yard apes....it was time to sell.

Made the sale today.  Watching the joy and happiness on the other guy's face really helped see it go :? .  Figure he would be as happy as I was with it.  Plus he's a hulk of a man so the GW will be easier for him to manhandle.

At least it's totally over now.  No second guessing.  Going to move on down the trail, see what's over the next rise...

Made a little adjustment this year myself CR.  My BMW has always been a passion.  I wanted to ride.  If I wasn't riding, I was thinking about riding, reading about riding, or writing about riding.  Something seemed to have happened over the winter this year.  I havent' wanted to ride if it was inconvenient.  If the temp said 45 in the morning (even though I knew it was going to warm up to 70) I took the car.  Or if it looked like rain, I took the car.  It seems my passion has evolved into recreation.  I still love to ride, and will do so when conditions are right; but I don't HAVE to ride.  I do it when it suits me.  Having a 5 year old Grandson living with us has changed things also.  Used to take my wife, or she would just tell me to go.  Now I feel guilty because she is so tired from taking care of him, so I park the bike and stay home more.  It's ok, he and I can go out in the garage and do 'man things'.  See Ya.  44 Man
