3" Game Loads
« on: June 13, 2005, 03:38:29 AM »
I was recently given a MEC Sizemaster press. I want to set it up for 3" game loads, both lead and steel. I'm an expiernced rifle and pistol reloader and I used to reload 2 3/4 shotgun ammo 25 years ago on different equipment. I have a buddy who provides me with target loads at a very good price. I'll keep him until he decides I should load my own.

I need some recommendations on what kind of hulls to use for reloading and some recommendations on how many ounces of shot I should load for 3" game loads for pheasant and water fowl loads (I'm thinking 1 1/2 ozs). I do understand that I need to make changes to the reloader in going from steel to lead.

Anyone have some good recipes to recommend?
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.

1. Check the powder mfgs sites/publications for their recommended loads and recipes.
2. Go out and pattern the loads you've worked up.

I like AA hulls or STS but also have good success with Feds in my gun.
