OK guys, I have had a time with S&W, I finally had enough with a 629-5. I traded it off for a new 45acp, I know they are totally differant handguns etc, etc.
However this one is just acting right, I have just over a hundred rounds through it so far, 70ish AMERIC. and 42 handcast reloads. Man I am having a ball with this one.
Straight wheelweights water quenched, Lee 230 rn, bullseye which is no where near as dirty as it was in the 44mag. wlp primers.
I was trying CCI-350 mag primers in the 44mag, I am thinking of using them up then going back to the wlp primers unless the CCi really make a diferance. This is my first 45acp, but it looks like a real keeper to me, only a few thousand rounds will tell for sure though.
yeeeha, Halfbreed

Hey Halfbreed,
Iv'e shot thousands of those lee 230 gr. cast of wheelweights without water quenching them through 4 different pistols without any leading.
How fast are you pushing them ?
I  mostly use 5.2 gr of unique thats supposedly around 850 fps.

Hello Ksbackwoods, I started shooting them at 4gn of bullseye @about 810 fps. I upped it to 4.5gn of bullseye today. If it does not rain me out this weekend, I will find out a little more about it, ha ha, I loaded another 150 rounds today. I really need to find a progresive press :?
