Seeking Basic CAS Info.
« on: June 15, 2005, 03:55:10 AM »
I browsed a bit on the SASS website, but could find  no simple summary or explanation of CAS classes (Duelist, etc.). They do have a manual in PDF file, but I didn't want to wrestle with that.
Is there a source for this kind of basic info. for a beginner?

Hi Jacob,

I sent you a PM.  If you'll respond I've taken the categories out of the shooter's handbook and will forward them to you.  They are word documents now.

also check out Capt Baylor's site.  He is a great source of info for learning about SASS.

C.R.:
Thanks for the link and the response to my post. Capt. Baylor's is an informative site. I sent you an e-mail.
I've never even attended a CAS event as a spectator,  so the game is all new to me. Lots to learn.

If you check the SASS website www.sassnet.com
you can find the clubs that shoot near you.

One morning of a shoot I had a splitting headache, had been up late the night before and almost didn't go.  When I got there I couldn't help but smile and enjoy myself to the fullest.

I think of CAS as people above the age of 12 acting like they are 12 years old playing cowboys and Indians (Native Americans to be PC)

Hope you find a club and can join in.  Most clubs I know of have members with entire sets of guns and leather to loan out.  Make a few calls or emails and see what's up in the NE area.

Through the info on the SASS website, I found a site for the Lincoln County Lawmen in RI, not a long drive from where I live.  I'll contact them.
