I have noticed a recent increase in the skunk population. I am wondering will the local coyote population euthanize the skunk? What is the predator of skunk?

Perhaps the Great Horned Owl.
At least that is what my 1940's vintage Varmint & Crow hunters Bible claims.
Seems that they used to shoot the dickens out of those owls in the intrest of preserving other small game.
Alot of these Owls went to the taxidermist either for a Crow decoy or just to have the mount. Most were reputed to be loudly scented with skunk which led the author to believe that the Owl has no offal sense.

Where can I get some of those Owls? :> The skunk population is becoming more of a problem than the coyote population.

Dont really know if I would wish the Great Horned on you if you dont have them already.
Have had good luck dispatching the skunk with #160 connibear traps. Can pretty much pull this off with no spray.
You can also get by with popping the critter through the head with a .22LR
And have it drop in its tracks with no spray.
Please note that a skunk seen during the daylight hours is rabie suspect.

Coyotes will kill skunks and eat them. If you are trapping skunk cent is one of the better trap baits, I have used skunk oil a lot during the time i was trapping for coyotes. one of the things about skunks is they like to be around farms and houses in a country setting, But they will come into towns also, In fact last week one came to my house and i had to run him off .........Joe......
