NG... means "No Good"?
« on: June 16, 2005, 07:42:35 AM »
I've been keeping my eyes open for a used Handi for a 7.62x39 barrel. Thought I had found one, a .270 with a Simmons scope for $190, asking.
Alas, it was serial no. #NGxxxxxx.  My understanding is that NEF won't fit a high pressure barrel to it even though it came out of the factory with a HIGHER pressure barrel.

What gives with that?

Hmmm, why not, that's a 1990 mfr date, it's built after their cutoff date of 1987. :?  The 7.62x39 barrel isn't asterisked on the 2005 barrel order form...

TY, Quick. I have not seen the order form. Figgered that it would be listed as HP 'cause it is. I'll make a phone call in the morning. Maybe two. There's likely some wiggle room in that asking price, and I have a frequent flier credit at that store.
