western knife/ax combo

i have a knife /ax combo that was given to me by my sister after the death of her husband the knife and ax share the same handle by flipping up a lever the handel can be placed on either blade or ax  and all peaces fits neatly  into a nice leather sheath it was made in colorado by western cutlery the knife blade is a skinner type ,ABOUT 5" AND THE AX HAS A 3" EDGE THE HANDLE IS --LOOKs like YELLOW pearl  WOULD ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS AND THE VALUE .IT WAS BOUGHT NEW IN DENVER ABOUT 1955 .-thanks tom

Can't help you on the value, you might check out what's being offered on E-Bay for Western knives.  The Western brand is now manufactured by Camillus Cutlery, and they still make axe/knive combo's....but of different materials than the old ones.  Those were made for decades, and I know the handle material you're talking about, but not by name.  Way back when I was around 10, I had a Western knife with a handle like that.
