but I remember seeing a topic on obtaining forend screws.  This has not been a problem for me as I use socket head cap screws that I cut/file to the proper length.  However......over the years I have acquired a number of wooden forends without any hardware and found the forend bushing hard to come by.  I finally found a source:  http://www.ponderosaparts.com/  They are a bit pricey at $9.00 each, but my alternative is to stand in front of a lathe for a couple of hours (and still probably not get it right).

BTW, I like the socket head screws because the allen wrench won't slip and  wallow out the slot (or scratch your baby) like a screwdriver will.

Eds carries these forend screws in STOCK. The are reasonably priced.
I just find it funny we go to such trouble to get something an Advertiser here has in stock.

Folks were looking for longer than stock forend screws for the Encore which doesn't use a standard thread (Contender does so that's easy). TC factory will normally send you standard replacement screws for nothing (or very little) but longer than stock for custom applications are hard to find. I think they tried Ed's and he didn't have them long enough.

"Trouble" is relative to the individual and their circumstance.  With regard to screws, and since I'm the packrat type, it is less trouble for me to grab one out of the many boxes of screws around here.  Even if I have to cut it down, in 5 minutes I have my screw instead of ordering it and waiting.  

My original post though, concerned forend bushings which I don't see listed on Ed's site.  I know I could e-mail him an inquiry but that just doesn't seem appropriate for each and every thing I think he may have.  If Ed wants to sell me something, he can list it where I can see it.  My apologies to Ed if it is there and I just missed it.  It won't be the first time! :oops:

Also just realized that in my orininal post I neglected to mention that I'm referring to contender parts.  Sorry for the confusion.
