Cabela`s Snow Pac Boots
« on: June 21, 2005, 09:54:31 AM »
Hey guy`s
This past deer season, my feet froze so bad, I had to leave early. I sit in a tower stand all day. Well I bought Cabela`s Snow Pac Boots, there rated for -50 below. and boy do they do the job.  --the add reads--
( An all-rubber bottom combined with an oiled split-grain leather shaft repels snow, rain and slush before they can soak your feet. The thick, removable foam and 400-gram thinsulate Ultra liner insulates against the cold and provides an extra layer of cushioning and support. Bob-style outsoles help keep you safely on the go.) These pacs also have rust-proff D-ring lacing hardware.
Height: 11 inches
Color: Brown.
Average weight: 5.2 lbs./pair.

The regular price was $49.00, but they were on sale when I bought them for $39.95.

They do work very well, and I did not have to leave the stand because of cold feet . My feet were very comfortable and warm. The temperature was -12 degrees.  Your feet will get hot and sweating if you walk more than a couple of hundred yards in them however.

I got a pair from cablea"s about 10 yrs ago that are suppose to be good to -90 (it dont get anywhere near that cold here) I dont use them that often so their still in good shape. On the other hand my wife's feet get cold if someone says it's cold outside. She got a pair of inner soles that run on a battery pack Yea I know they made electric socks, these are made for the u.s. postal service. She had talked to several of the postal workers that walk a route, and they said their great in the snow. If I had a pair I would just wind up with a hot foot. My pac's do quite nice even down around -30  -40. Their also water proof.
