My timing is not the best
« on: June 24, 2005, 02:42:02 PM »
We shoot tomorrow and at 5 pm I remember another pard is joining up in using our gun cart.  Not a problem as we have 7 slots (one used for the umbrella).  My brother and I each have two plus his 2 = 6.

BUT he has a SxS and we only have one slot for SxS which is what my brother shoots also.

So I'm enlarging one of the single barrel slots, reinforcing the top piece with all the cut outs for the barrels, drum sanding it smooth.  Adding some more stain (and will have to do some more of that down the road.

Still haven't figured out when I'm gluing in the cork lining for the cutout.  The stain is wet and the tape would have to go right over it.  I'll have to figure another way to keep the cork tight against the cut out till it drys.

I love the way I plan ahead....

It gets better!

I glued the cork on at 10 pm and got up this am to take the tape off and do some trimming.  With just minutes to spare I'm done and it really doesn't look to bad.  Will need a couple more coats of stain but we're in business.

Get to the range and my pard shows up and he's carrying a '97 shotgun.  The one with one barrel not two!  So all my "hurry up" modifications were for naught.  At least both my brother and I have spots for our SxS now.

Pard, that is Murphy's Law.

Seems you can never have a cart too big sometimes. I went from a little easy to haul and push smokeless cart to a big ol' cart just to haul all the stuff needed for BP.
