final decision
« on: June 28, 2005, 12:25:02 PM »
Virginia passed a crossbow season. I have been looking and touching for months. I am now ready to pull the trigger, but I am stuck with two bows left to choose between.

Parker Terminator (150lbs.) vs. Excalibur Exocet (200lbs.)

Parker is compound - Exocet is recurve
arrow speeds about the same, Exocet has a little edge
both weigh the same
both fit good
Parker a little quieter than the Exocet
Triggers are about the same
Parker is 3" narrower on each side than the Exocet
Parker has fewer carbon arrows (4) provided than the Exocet (6)
Parker gives target points (4) - Exocet gives (6) target and (6) broadheads
Parker need technician to restring - Exocet can be restrung in the field
Parker comes with a RedDot scope - Exocet's is extra
Parker setup is about $100 cheaper than the Exocet

Love them both. Can afford either one, but can't buy both. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exocet .  less mechanical parts, less problems deadly accurate amazing trigger.
I own an Exomag would only trade it for a newre excalibur model.

Excalibur all the way

I have also been checking out crossbows...anticipating NC also passing within a few years...Like what I hear about Excaliber...My ??? how hard is it to cock a 200 pound Excaliber?? and is 200 needed?...wouldn't 150 be plenty for whitetails?? I also would look at the Excaliber scopes...the ones that adjust for yardage...
