Just came home with my Mathews Switch Back
« on: June 29, 2005, 11:57:20 AM »
I went to the bow shot today "just to look around"  :) . I bought a new Switch back.  It is a quit and fast bow. It will replace my Legacy. I sold my Mathews Q2LX to a buddies son and I was going to keep shooting my Legacy, until I went to the bow shop. We my buddy saw my new bow and said he wanted my Legacy. One word about the Switch back is awesome. I shot it about 60 to 70 times today and my groups were great.  :D

Great bow. Congrats to you.

A new bow would be nice but I cant justify the bucks as my Mathews Ultra2 is still devistatingly accurate and shoots through a chrono at 283fps with 350gr carbon shafts.

I do envy you though

It was hard parting with my Mathews Legacy, but I think I am over it now.  :-D  :D

Is there really any main difference between the different high priced bows? IM just starting to look, and see that most of tyhe high priced bows look the same, and cots about the same.

The ones Im referring to are the Browning Illusion, Mathews Switchback, Hoyt XTEC and VTEC, Hoyt ViperTec, PSE Vengence (?), etc....

Whats the main difference between the more expensive bows?

TIA :D

Sometimes I think it is a matter of preference. All the more expensive bows are well made and fast. It comes down to the old argument, what is better ford or chevy. Well I picked the Dodge because it was better.  :D  :-D

A couple of my friends just purchased the Switchback.  They absolutely love that bow...They are in the process of dumping their old XI bows.  I was close to purchasing a new bow but I went out and shot my Pearson Spoiler Lite in my driveway and put that feeling to bed.  Maybe next year.  I feel obligated to one bow shop but he does not sell Mathews and the shop in my area that does sell Mathews gave me a raw deal one time so I will not go there...Oh well, as was stated before, when you get to the higher priced level of bow it mostly comes down to personal preference...I'll have to start saving my pennies for the future bow purchase.  Of course I should probably buy my wife something nice for our five year anniversary first.
