Hi All,
Does anyone use a bipod on thier Encore pistol? What kind? How do you like it?

I use a stoney point pole cat medium size bipod. It's very stable for shots in sitting positions. You can get the from midway for about 35.00. They also make a taller set for standing shots, but not sure how much they are.

Hello Bim,

I can highly recommend the use of bipods to you. This is a Harris BR version I use for both bench and hunting - works great and it helps make the gun very stable and accurate. BTW, it's on a tapered factory SS 15" 223 barrel with a hangar bar that I Marine-Tex'd into the VV laminate forend - rock solid. Arizona crows and jackrabbits hate it!

Hello Bim,

I hang all of my bipods on a sling swivel stud about 1.25" from the muzzle end of my laminated forends. My reasoning is that it helps reduce sighting errors by stopping radial muzzle wobble - it works well for me. I recommend if you follow this line of thinking that you glass (I swear by Marine-Tex) in your hangar-bar if you use one - or if you use stainless washers to stand your barrel off from the forend that you make sure the forend screws are good and tight since the bipod has significant mechanical advantage against the forend screws when you place it out toward the muzzle end as far as I do. I've never had any problems by using the methods above and they take away a lot of shooter error by steadying the barrel for those of use who can't hit the broad side of a barn even if we're standing inside. :grin:
