What is the caliber and barrel length of your rifle? If it's one of the advertised lightweight rifles you can't expect miracles. I have a Browning Micro-medallion in .308Win. It weighs only 6.0lbs, with a short, thin 20" barrel, and packs a lot of recoil. I glass bedded the action, floated the barrel and attached a Pachmyer Decelerator Pad on it. Now it will print slightly less than 1" groups (5 at 100yds). For what it's worth my last 2 Remingtons have had a little bumper piece attached to the end of the stock. I guess it's a dampener, but I don't find it helps any. I have it removed when the barrel is free floated, and it seems to shoot better. I
think the little bumper piece in the forend allows the manufacturer to save money by producing thinner barrels. Just one mans opinion, but I don't trust any of them any longer. Best wishes.
