modern double action revolver

one thing i dont have in my collection is a good double action rimfire revolver. id prefer current or recent production status, adjustable sights are a must as are decent trigger pull and decent fit and finish and fairly good accuracy with a variety of ammo. preferably with a price tag of under 350$ or so. ive not kept up what the market has to offer in this category lately. what have yuall found outstanding or even what to stay away from??what im looking for is something i can use for a long time and my son will be proud to own when im gone. any ideas???

:cb2: The two best ones that I have are the S&W 617 and the Ruger SP101. The 617 is incredibly accurate, and the SP101 is a great fun gun and plinker. Unfortunately, neither (new) is going to fall within your price range. If you want quality, you're going to have to pay for it. I'd go with the six-shot, six inch S&W.

I started that same search last year. I finally gave in and raised the bar on the $$ and bought a S&W 617 ss 6" 10 shot. I paid a little over $500 for it at Sheels, had to order it. They had some decent used 4" one's for around $350. However I wanted a 6" revolver, and I am happy I bought this one.

I've been in that same search mode for quite a while.  Not real motivated to buy a new one, though.  Finally was offered an older S&W 17-3 in 6" for $325, which I bought.

Just under $360 with all the freight, Brady, etc. CRAP you have to put up with, but I've got it now!  I'm a happy camper. :grin:
