That is a good point about the Coydogs. I have seen that some also as
well as the pure breds. But also back in the late 60's we had Red Wolves
in a few remote regions & they were never completely killed out, but
rather even according to our game & fish (we actually had one then), they
bred themselves out of existance by mixing with coyotes. By the way, I
have never heard of the Northern Grey Wolves doing this, but then again
the Red Wolf is between a Coyote & Grey Wolf in size & traits. I have seen
a couple of these too & yes we have a hardy Coyote indeed, sometimes
much bigger than the Western Coyote.
