I did subscribe to Gun Tests for a year.  This was back a couple of years ago, and they weren't afraid to really bash a firearm that didn't perform.

But, I couldn't get past the problem of not having a large enough number of test subjects (I manage a chemistry and microbiology lab).  Anyone can go out and buy one gun, even from what most consider a "good" company, and end up with a lemon.  The inverse is also true.

So, as much as I enjoyed reading their reviews, I let the subscription lapse.  It is (or was) pretty expensive if I remember correctly.

This month Dave Scovill pimps a $300 RCBS powder scale/dispenser.  The article end with "If you think you want to be a handloader and you aren't using an electronic scale (and dispenser), your kidding yourself."

Dave Scovill is simply unreadable.  I get the both of his mags but I don't read anything he scribbles.  Reading his drivel is as much fun as watching Tung Oil dry.

I submit that ALL of the mass market gunrags are not writing for us, the real gun enthusiasts.  They are writing for newbies, rookies and the folks that aren't very gun/reloading saavy.  Glossy infomercials designed to get us to buy guncrap we don't need.

Most of the Shootinguns&ammo rags are suitable for house training your puppy.  Not much else.

This is my opinion. Your opinion may vary.
