« on: July 13, 2005, 01:43:03 PM »
Hey all ,      How bad is the recoil, with the Encore 12GA slug barrel????

Does it compare to a New england Single shot 12ga in 3 1/2" Mag ???
 ( My Turkey Gun)
Have been thinking hard on Getting the 12ga slug barrel..  For Fun and For Deer....   Any input welcome...

Thanks

You can tame the recoil by installing a Sims pad and or a mercury recoil suppressor.  :D

Redhawk,
This Might sound funny . But I stuffed two Roles of pennys down the stock on my new england 3 1/2" mag.   Couldn't believe how much it helped with recoil.  It also helped, with keeping the barrel down..

I've never had the recoil pad off of an Encore .  Is something like this possible with them also???    I'm guessing probably not,  I assume the stock would be solid up to the grip...

The stock on the Encore would have to be drilled. It is a very easy to drill.  :D

It's pretty stout but managable.  If you're using a scope, be careful you dont get scope eye.

Stay away from the 3" mags.
