Great news for dealers at NTA convention!

Very good news!

Effective 4:00 PM July 13, 2005

Due to the efforts of dedicated trappers James White and Winston Marshall, working with National Trappers Reform Staff Member Bob Wendt, the Indiana endangered species provisions 3121AC 9 have been Temporarily modified.

The ban on endangered species relative to the NTA National Convention that has caused great concern for dealers and tailgaters has been modified, to allow possession of carcass, hides or parts that were lawfully acquired.

Due to these efforts, you will be allowed to possess such parts, hides, and carcasses given proof or seal that these were lawfully acquired.

We owe a great deal of thanks to Lt Mike Crider of the Indiana DNR who was instrumental in pulling this off. He as well as James, Winston, and Bob really made this happen. Great going fellas, and thanks!

The directive was signed by the Indiana Secretary of State, Todd Rokita and Indiana Director of Natural Resources Kyle J. Hupfer, and is effective as of 11:30 AM this morning, July 13, 2005.

mallard- you literally do not have a clue. Why you try to act like you do, is beyond me.

Call LT Crider- ask HIM who he has vbeen working with DAILY the last 2 weeks. Ask HIM who pushed this relentlessly.

Tom Morelock CONCEEDED that there was nothing HE could so until next fall.

It wasn't lonnie and it wasn't tom- it WAS Bob, Winston, Jason and James.
those are facts.

Now- if you don't believe the facts- thats fine- but for someone that wants to be known as riding the high road, all I can see is your hat.

We had no doubt that the status quo would try to spin this, but we at least figured those that would lead the charge, would actually know about the issue.

You didn't even have a clue about this issue- and now you are the expert? LOL

I'm sure your tactic is to get this deleted- and you probably will succeed.

June Ex.Admin Report By Dave Sollman in Ref Convention:

"NATIONAL CONVENTION, GOSHEN, INDIANA- As the BOD is aware, Indiana has a law that will not allow for the selling, possession of animals or parts thereof of any animal listed on the Indiana Endangered Species list as well as those listed on the Federal list. NTA continues to work for a solution to this problem but it appears that we will not find one without changing legislation and that cannot be accomplished before the National Convention. We are sending a list to all vendors that list all mammal species on Indiana's list as well as the Fed's. This will also be given out to all vendors and tailgaters as they come into the convention. NTA hopes to never have situation repeat it's self. We are asking that all future states that bid on a convention submit a letter from the law enforcement division outlining all legalities for selling furbearers. We are also trying to get a letter from Kansas as well as letters for those states that will be bidding this year for 2007. Below is a letter that was recently sent to all paid NTA vendors. Please feel free to pass it out and have people call should they require more information.

This isn't the only communication that says essentially the same thing- nothing the NTA can do- but I know Mr Bogmaster won't allow copy and paste- so you will have to go to CRU to see the rest. Thanks!

We? who's we? So this was a political move on behalf of the reform party? Figured it was more than an FYI. As far as not having a clue....I've spent no less than 24 hours this week bringing myself up to speed on what exactly is going on. I believe I've read every word on your political board, and as well read every piece of information available from those on the opposite side, or as you refer to them..."the status quo". What I see is a lot of mis-information, over-touting, and half truths. maybe a better word is truth stretching. It's these tactics that are intended to do nothing more than create doubt, resent, and divisions....undoubtedly undermining and weakening the NTA as a whole. As far as trying to "spin this" why don't you take a good look in the mirror. Shouldn't be throwing stones in glass houses.

I've taked to you in person and respect you as a trapper, but I can't simply sit back and watch the internet being used as a means to confuse and persuade the "status quo"....maybe we should be called nomads or something.

I'm not going to joust pee streams with you....just calling it how I see it.
