.25-06 rem. ammo
« on: July 14, 2005, 03:10:16 AM »
I've had a 25-06 in a handi for a year or so and would like to know what kind of factory ammo you guys may use. Mine likes 120 gr. core-lokts. And what kind of accuracy are ya'll getting?   Thanks, Mud

Mud dude, I don't have a .25-06 handi, but I do have a .25-06. I love the hornady 117gr. SST ammo, and 100gr. rem. Just try some and see what your gun likes to eat best. For me Federal 117 btsp ammo is awful, 3" and 4" groups from a sub 1/4" shooter. So just play around with it. Hornady is pretty inexpensive for premium grade factory ammo too!

Mine shoots the Federal 115gr Nosler partition and Hornady 117gr BTSP under 1" with the first 2 shots touching or real close at 100yds. I'm sure with a little tinkering with the forend, I could get it to shoot more consistent, but it's been on the back burner for a while...
