New reloader has questions...
« on: July 15, 2005, 05:06:57 AM »
Howdy, just getting started in loading for a 44 mag.
barrel on my Encore. As far as brass goes, are the
brands interchangeable or do I need to stick to the
brand used in particular recipes in my manuals?
I also would like opinions on bullets in the 240-300
grain range out of a 20" barrel. Thanks for any and
all suggestions on powders for both plinking and
hunting loads as well.
Gary

As far as brass goes , they are interchangeable as long as they are the same cal. Don't try to reload cci blazers or steel cases though .

The 44 mag is a perdy good all around round for the contender , some seen to like the lighter bullets and some like heavy ones you will have to find what it likes. here is a link to some real good load data.
