Question, are the rifles built by Parker Hale really that much better then Euroarms or Armi Sport?

In a few more words, very definitely YES! P-H Enfields were made using the original patterns and are historically correct. But they are made better. They were made in England to a high standard of fit and finish. They have always been more costly than the other makers' guns. I wouldn't swap my P-H '53 Enfield for any number of the others.

It's sorta like buying a Holland and Holland rifle over a Remington or Winchester. The H & H is quality work and a beautiful rifle. The Remington and Winchester may not have the fit and finish, but they get the job done and will last as long. I guess it depends on what you want to pay for.

i was told by a guy that his brotherinlaw worked in the parker factory, and that
the breeches and barrels were made from chrome moly don't no if this is true ore not.i had a 1861 artillery carbine and when i read the proof loads just a shade under 200 grns of powder with a 724 grn bullet.was also told in the proof tests that two 724 grn bullets were yoused,only going wot i was told.

I think the Parker Hale has progressive rifling like the old Enfields. That might add to their accuracy.

The Parker-Hale's do have the progressive depth rifling of the originals.

in answer to your question, not may ph owners are willing to part with them.

pls correct me if i'm wrong (i know you will) the first edition ph's have a gain twist as well as progressive rifling as the newer (gibbs) have only the progressive rifling.

buyer beware.... i have not seen it in writing, but have been told, that the gibbs ph looks exactly like the older (first edition) guns. even the markings on the barrel and stock. on the newer model, on the rear portion of the trigger guard, it will be stamped "made in italy". also check serial no. again, correct me if i'm wrong, but the first edition will have no more than 4 didgits in number. althogh the newer ph 's shoot very well, it's a matter of price thinking you're getting one thing, and getting another.

The Parker-Hale's Enfields have the same pitch and progressive depth of rifling as the original arms. They were not gain twist.

There is a variant Parker-Hale model P/53 that was made with 1:48 twist rifling. This model was not a reproduction of any pattern arm and was, I think, marketed to the US skirmishing market.
