What is this round and were can i find data for it , any help or ideas :?

I think you will find that the Varminter is none other than the 22-250
which is one of the older wild cats.  The parent case is the 250-3000.
In 1967 Remington came out with it as a factoty load. The 250-300 case was changed to 28 deg.s  Remington came out with this loading 30 years after the Varminter was developed........Joe........

You are right & I am afraid that since we know the answer that this may
date us a little bit.

I'm 68 years old, and I suspect the .22-250 is at least as old as that, maybe older.  It's been my favorite varmint and small game caliber for many years.  Best wishes.

Seems like i have always had 22-250 or Varminter, Got my first one in 1950, Worked my butt off for two months to pay for it. I was an Apprentice Pipe Fitter at them time, And a full time shooter from sun up until dark, Would not be without one. The man that built my first one is 91 years old and begining to fade  away, But still works on guns part time. He was just a pup when he did mine. Greatest round ever made in my opinion, for what it worth........Joe...........

.22-250! Yes Sir!!! What a great round. Very well balanced as to accurracy, velocity, bullet weight, and barrel life. I love it. Only been shooting one since 1978, not as long as some here. I refer to it as my "Varminter", and the younger guys look at me like I'm speaking Greek! :lol:
