I have 2 Russian Sks's I am thinking about selling. They are 50's vintage all milled parts and matching serial numbers. They are still packed in grease and have never been fired, at least not by me. I don't want ot rip anyone off, or be ripped off, so any advise would be helpful.

I have no idea what they would sell for now but I do know they were selling fairly reasonable a couple of years ago. Maybe one of the guys here who are more into SKS's can tell you more. Jim

Are they black painted bolts means like they are "refurbs" with the diver down symbol on the rear cover or silver colored bolts orginals? A NIB refurb sells for about $250 at gun shows you could check your local shows or the net before you sell it. The orginal russian sks i would give you a ball park guess at $275 to $325+ and maybe more depending on exactly what it is and maybe its a rare one to get(year). But again check the net first for exact prices so you get a feel for an average going rate too like gunsamerica, gun broker or auction arms. The prices i gave you are some of the ones i have seen lately. I just picked up a russian sks refurb for $250 NIB but across our country prices do vary too. BigBill

I'm starting to remember some of this stuff on the orginal russian sks silver bolt its the "year of production" matters. Some of the certain production years are rare. Most are early to mid 50's I believe too. It matters to the sks collectors who collect every year to have every one. With the chinese it gets even crazier because of the many different manufacturers "symbols" on the recievers. The chinese collection can really be a big one because there are more different chinese sks's than Russians.

I have one made in '55. It has a silver bolt and is not a refurb. I bought it back in the early 90's for around a $100 or so I believe but I don't remember the exact amount. I'm glad I got it when I did considering what they are going for now.

Your right the old saying is if you snooze you lose just look at the prices on the Albanian sks's right now there going higher everytime i look at them. I think there are less Albanian sks's in the US than all the others so they are the rare ones next to the certain rare russian dated ones. The average prices on the Chinese sks's seem to be around $200 to $225 lately. This makes the Russian refurb at $250 a great buy. It makes me wonder where all the prices will go when the yugo supply runs out??
