Need shotshell dimensions
« on: July 19, 2005, 02:00:29 AM »
I have access to the dimensions of practically every rifle and handgun cartridge available.  But not for shotshells.  Thankfully I have a digital caliper and a supply of 12, 20, and 410 shotshells.  But I don't have 10 and 28ga specimens or dimensions.

What I need is:
Rim diameter
Base diameter
Rim thickness

Any data would be great (well, correct data ;) )

What are you doing, making something out of them? Curious... :-)

Going to use the specs for some force calculations to see, based on SAAMI pressures, how much force these guns undergo with each shot.

Have a theory on the 28ga that could lead to an innovation or two, but would need data first.
