help/ scoured piston and possibly pwall???????
« on: July 21, 2005, 07:21:14 PM »
hi,
i am in need of advice on my atv.
last year water got into my engine, and scoured the piston and possibly the piston wall.
i bought new rings and gaskets, seals for it.
i am now thinking about putting them in and every thing.
i have the whole thing torn apart, and ready.

just wondering what i can do to smooth the piston and wall?
can i have it bored or something?

do i half to get a new piston? or can i bore the cylinder wall.
or can i get by with just smoothing it down and putting it all back together?

if i get it to run again, probly traid it off for something diffrent.

it was running, before i tore it all down, but with the water into the gas or engine, it was milky, and would foul out the spark.

so, i am just wondering what anyone here would sugest for the least amount of money to get it up and running again?
thanks! :)

If you scored the cylinder wall then at a minimum you will need to have it bored, new piston and rings. Trying to do a quick cheap fix will just cause you to spend more time and money in a very short time. Sorry,   KN
