Marlin model 99M-1 need some info please!
« on: July 23, 2005, 09:34:45 AM »
Does anybody know if all the 99M-1 have the gold seal on the stock that says 1870 to 1970 and the gold trigger,or is that some kind of anniversery edition. its a tube loading auto by the way, and what the value might be its not in mint but it looks at least 98% its in excellent condition. I bought this at a yard sale and i dont know anything about this model i have never seen a model 99m1 so i dont have anything to compare too, ive seen the model 99 but never the 99m1 so idont know if all m1 have the gold emblem and trigger or not. THANX  FOR REPLIES

It's a commemorative edition.  Mine does not have the gold trigger or the medallion, and I've seen several others over the years that don't.  The regular 99M1's sell for around $75 at gun/pawn shops and gunshows in well-used condition.  Might fetch up to $125 in excellent shape.  They aren't rare or particularly special, just a short and handy Model 60.
A great little open-field bunny-buster!
