4x4 decals
« on: July 24, 2005, 08:06:43 AM »
I just got through pealing the 4x4 decals off the sides of my new Chevy and it looks 100% better. I used a blow dryer and they came right off.

I guess I am the same way. I can't stand to see 4X4's with all thoses 4X4 stickers on them.  I just like a clean looking 4X4, but to each his own, but not for me.  :D

Bill, I can't argue your point.  :D  Those 4x4 decals were butt ugly to me. It won't run a bit better but it doesn't have a bad haircut now either. :) Besides that, fixing my recliner and removing those decals are the first things I've been able to do since I blew out my knee a month ago. It sure felt good to do something. (the recliner keeps my knee up to reduce swelling)

Good call.    I actually took off all six (6!) chevy decorations off my Tahoe.   I don't need the Model name on the back.     I know what I bought.     It looks a lot "cleaner."

After the license plate holder with the dealer name.   :)

Pepaw:

I did the same thing.  As soon as I bought my vehicle I stuck my hand out and asked for my first advertising payment. The salesman's eyes just bugged out as if I had just stepped on a toad.

He didn't understand at first but when I pressed him...he said they didn't pay folks to display the dealership's sticker on the back of their vehicles.  Guess he thought that was that...up until the point when I peeled the sticker off and put it in his hand.  Then he understood!

They didn't give me the vehicle...so they shouldn't expect free advertising.  If they want something free...get if from the old dude that just bought the red Miata!    :)

Anybody got an idea how to remove some very, very old "decorative" decals?    I don't think the hair dryer will work since the glue is dried and the decal is brittle.  I hope I don't have to sand them off.  :(
I bought an old Chevy Tracker for the ranch and it needs to be painted soon.   Maybe not camo, but a duller shade than white.
