Got to go play today; first time since my "incident" about 16 days ago. The doc said the dislocation of my right shoulder should end my long gun shooting.
Doctors, doctors, we don't need no stinkin' doctors
What the old timers told me was the #26 powder bushing (14.9 gr), using Red Dot would be pretty much a factory load (this under 7/8 of shot). And it felt about the same. And it hurt. And my shoulder came out of the socket. And that hurt like the devil himself.
Shooting from the hip, for me, is also called, "Missing." Tried it and was hitting about a 1/3 of the time. Really needed to do better than that. Probably could practice and get better but keep reading...
Finally found that the #13A (8.3 gr) bushing would push the shot out of the barrel, but barely. At least a now can shoulder and shoot the gun. This comes out to about 56% of the #26 load. To knock down steel I use the #15 bushing.
Boys and girls, these are WIMP loads if there ever were ones
but this is what it's going to be for me to say in CAS. Just buy a pink shirt with ruffles and I'm set
Club is OK with this so I'll see how it goes for the next several months.
