Hey wacky...
I was gone from the forum for so long I just wanted to update you on my fur tumbler....remember you sent me about 20 pages of scientific calculations on motors, reducer pullys belts rpm's etc???  

Anyway, with the info ya sent i was able to make a tumbler with a 55 gal plastic barrell and have it spining at about 40 rpm's  (which  is still a little fast)  but i fill it 1/3 full of kiln dried sawdust and tumble whole coon or fox, rats and sometimes unfortunately  a possum.....i skin beaver and yotes first.....

It worked great last season....so glad i made it....saves drying time and cleans fur and just makes em look great....THANKS WACKY!!

Now Wacky will be sending you all his cats for you to tumble..    I think the deal is you keep one Tom for every  other cat you tumble for him..... :-D

Just a suggestion, but that drum should turn between 18 and 20 RPM Max.

It makes a difference!

What FurH said is true.. the slower it turns the better  the grit or whatever your using and fur works.  Dont know yr set up but if your using belts and pulleys; change yr pulleys

Yeah, I know its fast...I need to change my motor with one that has a 1250 rpr rather than the 1700something rpms i have now....it sure tenderizes those coon good runnin so fast though....LOL

Glad it worked for ya.  That dang RdFx has a point a different pulley , 1/2 as big on the small side, would take yoou too 20 rpms.
