300 wsm and 150gr fail safe
« on: July 28, 2005, 05:37:57 AM »
I am looking for a good deer and elk load for my 300 wsm and was wondering if anyone has shot the 150 fail safes at elk.I have killed several elk with 140 grain fail safe bullets out of a 270 so I am not sure why the 150 grain out a 300 would not work better.

bobcat1  Welcome to GBO,

I think you would be better off using 165-168 gr. due to the better sectionl density of a 30 cal. bullet, I think even better would be 178-180 with any of the better bullets out there.
