Need some info and advice here

Evening, all.  Got a serious question here.  I have a Colt Delta 10MM and would like to know what the factory recoal spring weight is. I am trying to work up some light loads and was wondering how light a recoal spring I can get. The gun is perfect with factory loads, or my normal loads of 9.3grns of Bluedot and a 180grn Cast TCFN bullet. It will function well with 8.1grns of Bluedot and the same bullet, but I want to find a spring that will work down about 600fps with the same bullet. The slide works very stiff by hand with the factory spring in ti, I would gess it's somewhere over a 20lb spring, and I was wondering if a 17lb spring would work. the gun has an inner and outer spring now.

The load I want to use is 1cc,(15grns) of APP black powder sub under the 180 grn bullet. This load don't reliable work the slide now, will FTE about 3 times per clip. I will keep the origional springs to use with the smokeless loads and only change out for the BP loads. They will be used for the Wild Bunch matches at Cowboy Action Shoots.  And for just pure fun shooting!!!

Where do I order the lighter recoal springs??  From Wolf Springs??

Tough question and probable cannot be answered definitively without some experimentation.
With the cost of springs(not very costly) and some advice from Wolff I would think you might buy several and see which works best.

Try calling Wolff springs for advice. They have an on-line catalog. Also google around for info on 10mm Delta. It's a cult classic, so you may find some info of value.
