Sounds like it to me. Hows the bore if good it will make a good rifle for you I have one that the bore is not the best and it still shoots well. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

the bore is great,it has sights put on it,nice ramp on front, flip down on rear.it has a swede bolt, the handle has been replaced with a nice custom one. i have several small ring bolts but that custom bolt looks really good.  ed smith

Your making me wonder if it is a 95 mauser?? As the 93 mausers had a flat spot on the front of the bolt on the bottom the 95 and 96 mausers did not have this so If it is a 93 the bolt will have that flat on the bottom of the bolt if it does not I am thinking it would be a 95 action which a swede bolt would fit. jim

it is a 93 mauser, has 1893 on it,made in 1896,the bolt is not orginial, all small ring bolts from 93 on will interchange.i have a 1895 chili. not the same.it is in good shape,no pitting or dings. i have both type of bolts, flat and round.i like the swede bolt.just wish i had the swede receiver.   ed smith

WEll thats good to know I thought that since the 93 had the flat spot that the bolts may not exchange

yea,the differance between the flat and round bolts is that one will close on an empty mag. the other will not unless you bevel the follower. :toast:  ed smith
