my dealer can't find me a 44 handi or a 500 handi....didn't know 44 was so scarce..... :(

Well, I went and picked up the Handi Rifle today in .357 It was the last one they had. It has the black synthetic stocks and fixed sights. I went ahead and got the scope base and rings for it and I think I'm gonna mount a Simmons 1.5x5x32 that I already have. I hope it all works out. I need to clean it up real good first and bore sight it after mounting the scope. I'll sight it in with some .38s and try some of the Corbon 180 grains or the Federals. Then maybe experiment with some handloads if my friend will help me out. Then I can teach my daughter to shoot and try to get her a deer or hog. I can't wait! Thanks for all the help guys. If I like it I may get myself a 7mm-08 barrel. :grin:

Great to hear you found one for her. Be sure to give us a range report on it. I would like to have a 357 but i can't find one around here anywhere and i don't really wanna pay the transfer fees to get it shipped in. Guess i'll check and see if they have any left at the factory.

I got it cleaned up yesterday. Gonna mount the scope today after I get some Locktite. Gonna boresite it tomorrow at my buddies shop. Got some Corbon 180 grains on order. I hope my Daughter lets me borrow it from time to time. :)
