Shooting GC bullets without the GC

Has anyone done this, what kind of accuracy have you got or is it a bad idea??

I know you can't drive them as fast but??

Is there as easy GC tool to put on GC'c like a hand primer??
I am new to this part have always ordered my gc bullets. Have a mold that throws the slug the right size just need to GC easily

1) It's not necessarily a bad idea, although I've always had better accuracy using gas checks on a gas check mold.

2) Get a Lee sizing tool to seat the gas checks. Cheap, easy, nose - first. Seat your bullets to the first driving band, grease by hand with any decent machine grease, seat to final depth and wipe off excess grease.

Good shooting.                                                      Ron

I routinely use rifle bullets this way for very light loads. At 22 LR speeds there's no need for the gaschecks and no lack of accuracy. I will usually just cast, coat with Lee tumble lube, dist with mica, load and shoot. My Browning 1885 30-30 with a 170gr. cast bullet and 6.0gr. 700X is a one minute gun at 100M, with no recoil and quieter than a 22LR. (assuming there's no wind!) Much over 1200 fps I'll go with gaschecks but you may be able to go a tad faster depending on the condition of your bore and your specific load. In revolvers I'll only use gaschecks for the hottest loads in magnum guns. Most normal 1000 fps or less shooting is done with naked bullets, and it works fine as long as the firearm is correct. (proper forcing cone, holes lined up, etc.)
