I have been looking at buying a new Groundhog/Target gun and am torn between some different options. First let me say that I am left handed so my options are limited. I know that I want the gun in 22-250 since I have had good success in the past with this caliber. The guns I was looking at are the Savage model 12 low profile varminter left hand, the Remington 700 VSF, and the Thompson-Center Encore. I like the look of the laminated stock and stainless steel barrel of the savage better than the blued and black synthetic stock of the remington. I like the versatility of the Encore, but not it being a single shot. I like the remington just because it is a Remington and I have always like their actions and the solid feel of a 700. Each of these rifles I have found for approx the same price. Basically I want something very accurate to reach out at the range or for groundhogs. Just wondering what other opinions are about these three rifles and advise on what gun to get. Thanks.
