YUGO 48A MAUSER SCOPE MOUNT
« on: August 03, 2005, 12:03:07 PM »
Does anyone make a drill & tap scope ,mount for a yugo 48a. Want to keep 1 stock & sporterize the other. Don't want a clamp on just a good old fashion mount that bridges the action

Thanks
That's my boy, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

I think the Yugos take the standard Mauser 98 scope mounts, and those are plentiful.  I just had my Husquavarna 98/8mm drilled and tapped and finding bases wasn't a problem.  Right out of Brownells, I think.  HTH. Mikey.

The one piece K98 mount wont fit, Its to long. I've been looking at some two piece mounts for the .376 Steyr I'm haveing built. Haven't found a bridged one yet.

Leupold Mauser 98 - one piece would fit.  I have it on 3 of my M48s.  your M48a has the same receiver

I know the 98 bolt is longer than the 48 bolt but i'm not sure about the reciever but there are 3 different length bolts on the large ring mausers.  If i remember correctly one is almost 6" and i think there is a 5 3/4" and a 5 1/2" I got into this years ago, its the length of the throw.  Maybe the 6" reciever doesn't fit the one piece scopemount where the 5 3/4" & 5 1/2" will use the one piece base.
