Which has the better optics:

A Leupold VX-1 2-7x33 at about $180 or a Weaver V-series 2-7x32 at about $180?

You may want to consider first how much eye relief you need. There's a big difference between the two. Leupold has got the Weaver beat in eye relief. The Weaver has 3.5" of eye relief and would be good for the average person up to a 30-06. Anything that kicks harder would need more eye relief IMHO.

I would take the Leupold of course. I have had Weaver scopes and there not quit up to the Leupold in quality in my opinion.
