Shotgun to Muzzle loader barrel...

How does this work?  If I have a shotgun (12 gauge) and want to get a muzzle loader barrel for it, how does the gun actually work?  I mean, don't muzzle loaders have a different firing system than a basic firing pin like on a shotgun?

If you add a Huntsman barrel to your shot gun the charge is ignited buy a the same type shotgun primer that is in a shotgun shell.Your firing pin is hitting the same thing.
