7MM SuperMag
« on: February 23, 2003, 12:47:34 PM »
I recently pulled out a 7MM SuperMag barrel I had previously purchased and thought I would load some fodder to fling down range. My problem is that there seems to be little info on this cartridge. I have read where one can use 7MM TCU load data, but one of the loads I tried with a Sierra 120gr bullet was very compressed. I would like to hear from other 7MM SM loaders with their loads or at least some links to info on the web for this round. Thanks in advance for any help.

Ya, pretty much treat it like a 7 TC-U. Case capacity will be a little less due to the short neck, but a lot of recommended 7 TC-U loads won't fit in the case either. I like IMR 4895, lightly compressed with a RCBS sil. bullet. Load will depend on your case capacity, but you can't overload it with 4895. Have fun!

Nah! I guess I better keep, although I have more than I need but still not as many as I want.

I have a 7mm supermag barrel I might trade or sale, I am looking for a like new 7x30 waters barrel. If I keep the Supermag I would be interested in buying some dies for it. I have also done some research on this cartridge and the loading data for the 7mm TCU should be reduced 10 percent for good starting point in the Supermag
