Neck sizing VS. Full length sizing
« on: February 23, 2003, 12:59:38 PM »
Normally I would assume that full length sizing would be less accurate than neck sizing.  I am shooting H322 35gr, 180gr. Hornady SP, with CCI primers and Rem brass - neck sized.  Today I  barely got 3" groups.  Last week they were around 1.5" with full length sized brass being the only difference.  Should I chalk it up to a bad days shooting or maybe run two batches this next reloading round and load both full-length sized and neck sized.  I figured the fire formed brass would have been a lot better.  Anyone ever find that full-length sized was better than neck sizing?a

Possum,
When you fired the fl sized cases and then neck sized cases the volume of the case is differnt. You have to work a load up in the neck sized cases to find accuracy.

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.

That makes sense.  Thanks for the input.  I didn't realize it made that much difference.  I will start again.
