that smith&wesson should  consider offering 44mag or 45 colt revolver that can handle the heavy loads those two old cartriages have large following with experienced shooters / hunters why not offer something that can shoot the boffalo bore ,cor-bon,garrett ammo or stout hand loads.  :D

I am a S&W fan, but I do agree with you about them designing a revolver to handle these type loads. I shoot 45 Colt handloads in a Ruger Bisley for that very reason. Obviously, the new X frames will do the job (the 460 will take 45 Colt or 454 ammo) and they are impressive guns. For my use, the X Frame is too much. Something betewwn the N Frame and X Frame seems right.

I would like to see something in a .454 -- that should defintely be able to handle the hot .45 (long) Colt ammo that's out there.

Thats why I shoot the New Model Blackhawk colt 45. Its not the 454 or the S&W 500 83/8" but it shoots the 240gr bullet at 1450 fps. :D
