I have not seen an encore to inspect it. I kinda gather that the contender is a little better in quality of finish meaning sideway movement of the trigger etc. I know that the encore is built to handle higher pressures.

Does anyone know the maximum rifle cartridge pressure?

I do know of one that has shot a developmental round for the military that was pushing 70,000+.

In my opinion you'd be wrong. I have several of both and fit and finish is equal in both pistols. If you want the larger calibers go with an Encore. They offer it up to 300 win mag from the factory. Custom shop may have more powerful but I' not sure. KN
