ATN holo optics are JUNK. Some people may have great luck with them but I have not. I bought one three years ago to use on my action pistol. The sight skips from one sight graphic to another each and every shot. Ive tried numerous times to contact ATN about this issue and have failed in getting a response. The sight I have is JUNK and the customer service they offer is so pitiful it should be illegal.
For hunting the crosshair magnifying scopes are better. If you want some plinking fun and speed shooting at targets and such the dot sights or Bushnell holo sight cannot be beat. If I wanted a scope to do both I would look for a dot sight of some sort with the smallest MOA dot you can find. I believe there are some of these sights with 1 MOA dots. I believe these would be perfect.
One thing about dot and holo sights, before you buy, see if the gun store will allow you to go outside and look through it on a very bright sun shinny day. Sometimes bright sunlight will was away the illuminated dot.
Take Care,
Scott
