I want to buy the lee .312 185gr gc mold to cast for my enfield.  Do I use 30 cal gas checks or do I need to find a different size.  I can only fine 30 and 32 cal gas checks.

The Hornady 30 cal worked fine for me.  The 32 cal work for 8mm.
....make it count

Yeah, the .30 GCs are right. You might want to slug that barrel before you buy the mould. Groove diameters vary quite a bit, and Lee moulds generally cast very close to nominal.

Yeah. That and bigger are so common that there was a group buy of a custom .316 mould a while back.  That takes .30 GCs and is about as fat as you can go with those. I doubt you could find one for sale, though. Mine ain't.

Would that be the "FAT30"?  If so, I bought some from a guy and that's what I'm using in my Enfields.

You may want to also look at an NEI mould after the barrel has been slugged. Their moulds will generally cast a few thousandths over posted diameter allowing you to size to your needs.

No, Rick. There was group buy on a single cavity .316 of about 200 grains a year or two before the Fat 30, which was a six cavity run. I got one secondhand to beagle up for an 8x72 JR Sauer, but have not done much with it.
