Best price?
« on: August 13, 2005, 11:59:26 AM »
Has anybody got a line on a good price for a new G2 frame w/pistol stock and forend? I can get the G2 frame w/rifle stock and forend through Sportsman's Warehouse here in Washington State for $279. That's a pretty good price but the new G2 forend is just plain butt-ugly and I've only got pistol barrels right now. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I looked for the same thing.  My sportsman's will do the same price and a couple of local mom&pop gun stores will match the price.  If you don't "need" it right a way, do like me and hold out for the new G2 stainless and order it with the muzzle loader barrel.  they sell good on ebay!  And all the old tubes still fit it.  I have a contender now and will probably sell it when the G2 stainless comes out.  I'd feel better about using a JDJ in a G2 frame rather than what  I've got now.

Thanks for the reply Ex-Cajun, I'm one of those myself. Originally from Houma but I've bounced all over the globe most of my life.

I ended up picking up a 'like-new' G2 w/10" 44 Mag bull barrel for $350. So now I've got the not-so-tough problem of having 2 identical barrels. I figure I'll see which one shoots best and sell the other. All in all I reckon I made a prety good deal.

Like you, I wanted the stainless G2 but I got tired of waiting. Is there anything new to report on when those will be availab;e? I need to know when to start saving up for my next one.
