A word of warning on those Universal carbines.
Watch for hairline cracks in the Slide where
it makes contact with the bolt lug. That is common
in them... Mine cracked twice! And now I cannot find
another slide..My solution was to block the gas port and
make a straight pull bolt action out of it..
It is actually my ferral dog rifle. I load 150 Gr.
Ballistic tips for it at about 900 fps..
Kind of a .30 carbine "Whisper" load.
It is deadly accurate out to about 100 meters.
But then Mr. Gravity really gives it some grief..
