...And was wondering if anyone had any old ones laying around you don't need ?
I don't care if there are a couple small cracks or not.
Can anyone help me out here?

Cool. Thanks Zeke. I did see those at Aimsurplus, I must have over looked them.

It is a good price and I think I will order one for my 91/30.
Here is my ordeal. I am working on a few Mosin projects and with a couple M44 barreled receivers. And I would never consider cutting down such a nice stock as the ones Aim is selling.
That's why I was looking for a couple workable stocks, that no one cares if they get modified. I would like to find some M38 or M44 stocks. I seen them on eBay, but the prices keep bumping too high for me.

If you have an 03 FFL http://www.cruffler.com/becomingcruffler.html you can order a batch of you-fix-ems from Century International http://www.centuryarms.com/Century/home.htm  I think you get five beaters for $125.  Sometimes you can get enough parts to buils a couple of "Franken-Mosins".  In order to get guns and parts from Century you have to have a 03 FFL.

If you need stocks go to Gunboards and post your parts requests in their WTB section.  http://www.gunboards.com/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=65 .  There may be people selling the stuff you need http://www.gunboards.com/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=26

If you plan to get to far into the Mosin addiction get the 03 FFL otherwise known as a C&R license.  Even if you don't buy a lot of greasy old milsurps, you get discounts at:

Midway USA
Brownells
Numrich/Gun parts Inc

The discounts can be pretty substantial depending on what you are buying.

Thanks again Zeke. I don't have a C&R. I wish I did, and as much as I love tinkering with these I think I'll just go ahead and get it out of the way.
Frankin Mosins-I like that.  8)
